Enquiries

Tell the company enough to answer you properly.

Enquiries are read at the registered office and answered in writing. A short message that identifies the property and the proposal will get a more useful reply than a general one.

What to include

Six things that between them let the company answer without a round of questions first.

  • Who you are, and whether you write for yourself or for someone else. If you are instructed, say by whom.
  • The property. An address, or a clear description of the sort of property you are asking about.
  • What you are proposing โ€” a purchase, a sale, a letting, or a question about an existing arrangement.
  • Your interest in it: owner, prospective tenant, existing tenant, adviser, or something else.
  • Any timetable you are working to, and anything that fixes it.
  • How to reply, and to whom, if not to you.

If a matter is already running, quote the property in every message so the correct file is in front of whoever reads it.

How it is handled

Your message is read at the registered office and considered against what the company is doing at the time. You will be told in writing whether it is a matter the company wishes to take further, and if so what it needs next.

Terms, availability and figures are confirmed in writing for the property concerned. Nothing on this site, and nothing said in conversation, should be treated as agreed until it is.

The company is not obliged to take any enquiry further, and does not have to give a reason. Where it declines, it will say so plainly rather than leave the matter open.

What not to send

Please do not send original documents, deeds or identity papers with a first enquiry. If any are needed, the company will say which and how they should be sent.

Please also keep sensitive personal information out of a first message. What happens to what you do send is set out in the privacy notice.
